Renting Property In Tenerife

Having a telephone and ADSL installed in a rented property isn’t a problem, however you should check that the property is able to be connected before you agree to move in. You will normally have to organise the connection yourself as you will be required to pay via your bank account.

There are English speaking telecommunications companies who you can use if you don’t want to deal direct with Telefonica who prefer to speak very little English. Alternatively your Gestor may be able to help you get connected through Telefonica. Telephone bills are paid monthly.

Contracts for long term lets are normally three months, six months or 12 months and will be automatically renewed, unless a months notice is given by either party.

The deposit you pay is refundable, providing you leave the property as you found it and any breakages have been replaced or damages repaired. However, if the landlord thinks he can get away with not refunding your deposit, they will do.
